Valeriu Ghilețchi - the Statesman from Moldova

Rev. Valeriu Ghileţchi of Chisinau is a Baptist pastor who has served as the President of European Baptist Federation.

But first of all he is renown as a politician, serving for years in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, where he was previously the Deputy Speaker. He served for many years as a Member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe where he chaired the Judges Selection Committee and the Social Affairs Committee, as well as serving as the Rapporteur on a number of issues, including the Norwegian Child Protection System (Barnevernet). Today he is the President of European Christian Political Movement (ECPM).
